Tiger Cave is a rock cut temple complex in the shape of Tiger head built by Pallava kings in 8th century AD. This monument is located at ECR road just before Mahabalipuram in a hamlet called Saluvankuppam. There is another rock cut temple complex situated in the same campus for Lord Shiva and a Nandi statue. Apart from this monuments, a Sangam era Lord Murugan temple was unearthed by Archaeologists recently is situated very near this monuments. You need to take a gate found on the northern side of the Tiger cave campus and walk a bit to reach this new temple. Do not this miss to see this monument if you are in Chennai or if you are planning a trip to ECR or Mahabalipuram.
