Indeco Hotels Resort, Mahabalipuram Review

Tagged as: Chennai Mahabalipuram Resort Review Posted By Satheesh Babu

Indeco Hotels Resort, Mahabalipuram is located at the heart of the Mahabalipuram town and is just next to the Shore temple on the shores of Bay of Bengal. The biggest advantage of this resort is the location since it is accessible to every place of interest which is why we are there. You can reach to all the historic place from this resort in just 10 minutes of travel or it is within maximum of 3 kms of radius from the resort location.

About the resort

Apart from the location, the resort has ample space with lush green garden and will give you a sense of peacefulness when you enter the resort. The resort is very old which we can recognize from the look and feel. At the east end of the resort is the beach which is just 2 to 3 minutes of walkable distance away from the resort. The resort has a private lane leading you to the beach from their campus. You cannot say it’s a private beach but we have spent sometime in the beach and found very less crowd here when compared to other places. Since, it is just next to the Shore temple you can see the monument standing majestically along the shores of Bay of Bengal very clearly.  It’s also best place to have early morning walk across the shores where you can get a glimpse of sun rise. See the pictures in the gallery link below.
The resort also has a display of collection of antiques on their reception lounge which is worth noting.

The resort has almost all the facilities what we expect, like
1.    Garden
2.    Indoor gaming like Table tennis, Snookers and kids play area.
3.    Bar and Restaurant
4.    Swimming pool
5.    Open and indoor Party hall

We as a family of six people (all adults with one elderly person) took 2 air conditioned deluxe suit room (double occupancy with one extra bed each). The room and rest room are nicely maintained and clean. They have a very small TV(Though it’s not TN government’s free TV but of same size) which is really bad. The rooms are not so big for the amount of money they are collecting. We paid around 3.5k per room which includes only breakfast which is a bit costlier but we had no other option since we planned this trip just a day before and didn’t have much time to enquire in other places. They serve lunch (buffet) at their restaurant for Rs.400 per head. Although the food is not that bad, the varieties are less for the amount we pay. On the other hand, the breakfast they offered with the package is really good and had all the South Indian varieties.
The kids play area, indoor games and swimming pool are really nice and worth giving it a try. The resort has a very good environment with a big garden, full of tress and lawns. Since the resort is very old it definitely needs some renovation of some of their facilities. Nevertheless these small hiccups, if you are looking for a good weekend break from the Chennai traffic and your work it’s a good place to visit.
